About Our Apprenticeship

The Electrical Training Alliance of Gainesville (Gainesville Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, GEJATC) has been a Registered Apprenticeship since 1948.  It is a joint training program between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 1205 and the North Florida Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Associationa (NECA), aimed at training the best electrical workers the industry has to offer.

The Electrical Training Alliance of Gainesvilleis part of the largest apprenticeship and training organization of its kind in the United States, the electrical training ALLIANCE (ETA), which has trained over 350,000 apprentices to journey worker status through local affiliate programs throughout the country.

Over the years, we have continually trained the best electricians in the industry without cost to the taxpayer.  The students in our training program earn while they learn while in the apprenticeship.

Our apprenticeship program is approved and registered with the Florida Department of Education, Apprenticeship Office.
